TRIPLE-A UX AUDIT

CASE STUDY — GOVERNANCE · MARCH 2025

The UX audit that turned crypto payment friction into a product roadmap

Commissioned by Triple-A, a licensed crypto payments provider, Katashe Solutions conducted an end-to-end UX audit of DeFi wallets and payment processors — analysing more than 15 payment flows across four major wallets to identify where usability, compliance and trust break down, and how to fix it.

The Client

Triple-A is a licensed cryptocurrency payments provider enabling businesses to accept digital currency payments. Katashe Solutions was commissioned to improve the payment experience for consumers using DeFi wallets and payment processors.

The Situation

With Web3 payments gaining traction in Southeast Asia, usability emerged as a key barrier to adoption. As cryptocurrency and DeFi payments move into the mainstream, payment processors face a dual challenge: delivering clear, transparent and accessible user experiences while meeting regulatory requirements.

The Challenge

Diverse policies across wallets, tokens and payment flows created inconsistency and friction for end users. Inconsistent fee disclosures and token routing often led to failed or delayed transactions — eroding the consumer confidence that mainstream adoption depends on. Triple-A needed a rigorous, evidence-based view of where its payment journeys broke down, and design patterns that satisfy users and compliance logic at once.

What Katashe Did

We audited more than 15 token–network payment flows and reviewed cross-chain transactions across four major wallets — MetaMask, Binance, Ledger and Phantom — covering five token chains. Our approach included:

UX workflow and payment flow analysis

We identified friction points across onboarding, confirmation and finality stages, with insights derived from real user journeys simulating payments between DeFi and traditional finance endpoints.

Wallet and fee transparency audit

We evaluated inconsistencies in fee disclosures and token routing that led to failed or delayed transactions, and synthesised the findings into a wallet transparency matrix to inform Triple-A's product roadmap

Governance and risk recommendations

In light of evolving regulatory requirements, we proposed design patterns that help users make better-informed decisions while meeting backend compliance logic.

The Results

Our audit enabled Triple-A to streamline wallet integrations, improve transaction completion rates and enhance consumer confidence. The work laid the foundation for deeper enterprise wallet integrations — and contributed to raising UX standards in crypto payments as a mainstream payment option.
